Slap Worn Out
Today Kate is 7 weeks old. But last week was a big week for us. Kate started smiling and talking. I think she hit a growth spurt because all her clothes are starting to fit very snug and she can wear some of her 3 month outfits now. We no longer wear our newborn diapers and have moved up to size 1. And we did a great job of sleeping through the night 5 out of 7 nights!

War Eagle! This is another onesie that Noelle made for us. We just love all the clothes she has given us!
Peacefully sleeping...well for now anyway!
Lucy is constantly checking out the situation. She has been really great with Kate.
Classic picture for Kate...This is what we look like 90% of the time.

Friends
Kate and Anna Beth (Lisbeth's new little girl) - Kate was just checking to see if Anna Beth was "Sure"
Luke (Lisa's little boy) and Kate - they are going to be great friends!

We are gradually making it around to meet all Kate's new friends. Many of my friends already have children or are having them now. How much fun that there will be so many kids for her to play with as she grows up!

Obedient Child
Kate and I had a talk on Sunday about how she was six weeks old and that a lot of babies start sleeping through the night now. Well Sunday night she went to bed around 11pm and didn't wake up until 6am. Monday night we had the same talk again and she went to bed around 11pm and woke up about 5:45am. I desperately hope that this will become a trend! I really enjoy the 7 hours of straight sleep!
Below are some pictures...the pacifier has become a permanent fixture in our mouth lately.

facts of life
I doesn't matter how tight we wrap Kate up she always finds a way to get her hands out! Ok, I give. Kate looks like Jason. After snapping this picture I finally concede that she doesn't look like me...:(
I have come to realize that Kate doesn't enjoy having her picture taken...we have many of these shots!

Finally...Bath Time!
While most babies lose their umbilical cords around 2 weeks old, here in the Brantley family we like to buck the trend and wait until we are 5 weeks old to lose ours! To celebrate the occasion, we took our first bath!!

such a Big Girl!
Today we went to the doctor for Kate's 3 week appointment. She may be spitting up all over the place but it clearly hasn't effected her weight as she weighed in at 8 pounds and 6 ounces! And she grew 2 inches which puts her at 21 3/4 inches for her height. She still looked to be a little jaundice but the doctor just said it appears that she has her daddy's skin because her billi ruben count was fine. I can't believe how fast she's growing!

My Cousin Bryce
Bryce is only 7 weeks older than Kate but already likes trying to help take care of her. You can see how he carefully watched to make sure she was strapped into her car seat safely and he even wanted to try and hold her...that is until she spit up all over him. I think he will pass next time he has the opportunity to hold her.
