Snuggle Bug and Godparents

Kate has always been a good snuggle bug! Even at 13 months old she will still let me rock her if I want. I take advantage of this because I realize that this is rare in toddlers as they do not like to cuddle and snuggle with mom and dad as much anymore. We love it!

Saturday, Jason and I headed to Clarksdale, MS so we could be there for Maggie Rae's baptism. Maggie Rae's parents, Frank and Kristina Brown, are good friends of ours and we were asked to be her Godparents. It was a special day and was a great time of fellowship with our good friends!

Hats

Kate has always loved playing with hats but mostly she just liked chewing on them. So it was cute the other day when I walked in the room and I could tell she was trying to figure out how to actually wear the hat. It took her a little while but finally she got it on her head.

Sick Maybe?

Well after Kate spent 10 minutes lying on the floor like this I figured we needed to see if she was sick....and she was. She ran a temperature of 102.6 for almost two days and then she was fine. So who knows what she actually had. Then after one good day that night she cried for HOURS! We had no idea what was going on as Kate is a great sleeper. I finally even got her out of her crib to hold her and rock her but that didn't help. The next morning I saw two little teeth trying to poke through up top next to her two top front teeth. Then we had a pretty good weekend and now Kate and I both have head colds and all that drainage in our throats. Kate was hoarse yesterday from it and now I am today. And I am ready to not be cleaning runny noses anymore!

Before we got sick last week we played with Luke. Luke and Kate were born 1 week apart. We really need to take more pictures of them together. We play with Luke almost every week, so it would have been fun to see them in pictures changing so much. Here are Kate and Luke at about 6 weeks old. Man, they grow up so fast!

Kate's One Year Old Pictures

My cousin Kristin met up with us yet once again to take pictures of Kate when she turned one. Kristin really does a great job and has some of the coolest camera equipment. You really need to see the size of the lens she uses...you need to lift weights just to be able to use her camera!
ps. see below for a cute video - or at least I think so! :)

The Laundry Basket

After I took pictures of this and then decided to video it...Kate must have climbed in and out of the laundry basket at least 10 more times. Ooh, to be so easily entertained!!

Playing Outside

We haven't been up to much lately except playing outside. Kate just loves to be outside. She will go and stand by the front door now and wait for you to come and open it up so she can go outside. Then when she is done running around outside she goes back to the front door and waits for you to let her back inside. She totally cracks me up these days.
Jason has been traveling a lot lately and will continue to do so these next few weeks so we took advantage of Saturday and all went to the park together. Kate has this new thing going on where she walks/runs with her hands back behind her. Below she is doing it and she was yelling in her own language at all the other people at the park...it was pretty funny.

After Kate had ran all over the park and gone up to all the strangers there to say hello it was finally time to go. Once we got outside of the park Kate turned around and ran back to the gate. She wasn't the happiest kid when I went and picked up and put her in the car to go!
